Dan Gonzales
Mr. Gonzales is an interpreter and evangelist of design technologies and collaborative processes for the AEC industry. Mr. Gonzales is the Corporate Manager for Virtual Design & Construction at Swinerton Incorporated, a full service construction company based in San Francisco, CA. Prior to Swinerton he ran his own firm, Design Village, providing consulting services to AEC clients on Design Process, Computer Aided Object Based Design, 4D Project Scheduling, and Web Communications & Collaboration technologies. Design Village served both private and public sector clients, including architectural firms, construction companies, private developers and non-profit housing builders. Mr. Gonzales has consulted to major companies such as Palm, PG & E, Cisco Systems.
In the design profession for over thirty-eight years, Mr. Gonzales has worked as an urban planner, designer, and educator. Prior to forming Design Village, Mr. Gonzales served as a senior staff member of NBBJ’s Design Technologies group, where he worked to develop object based design tools and training programs. Mr. Gonzales is a member of the Virtual Builders Roundtable, an organization he helped found to promote virtual design and construction in the AEC industry. Mr. Gonzales is a LEED Accredited Professional and works closely with the SwinertonGreen Team to utilize VD&C tools in developing Sustainable Design analysis of Swinerton Green projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in City and Regional Planning, SLO, and a Master of Science candidate in Architecture from Cal Poly.
