Construction Risk: What It Really Is, How to Manage It and Why It Matters

Add to Cart

"Construction Risk Management" is commonly thought by the industry as an insurance product or plan. In fact, the rest of the story is that there are far greater risks that can torpedo the success of a project and/or even put a company out of business without a single claim being filed and it is time that construction professionals changed their thinking about the risks.

As the construction industry evolves with changing contracting methods, faster design development requirements, fast-track incremental permitting and the ever expanding owners expectations, the risks to owners, contractors and design professionals become greater and harder to shed.

Purchase this training CD to understand and recognize the inherent risks, how other parties influence the success (or potential failure) of a project and what it takes to actually manage for proactive success instead of only trying to shift the project risk to other parties. You will learn:

  • What "Construction Risk Management" is, how it is more about a change in thinking vs. the application of new technology, controls or contractual language
  • The risks that each party actually has regardless of contract
  • The responsibility of each stakeholder to the other parties in the project
  • The overall accountability for the results
  • The risks if you ignore "the rest of the story"
  • How the contractor's risk impacts the owner and the designer
  • How the designer's risk impacts the contractor and owner
  • The ultimate accountability of the owner and how they either exacerbate the risks or mitigate them by their actions
  • AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
