Pioneering Contractors on the Front Lines Using BIM: Three Case Studies

Add to Cart

There's no substitute for experience. This trio of major construction firms has dozens of BIM projects under their belts. They understand the direct benefits of BIM, but more importantly, can relate the value that BIM brings to project delivery, teamwork and collaboration. You'll learn why BIM has become a way of life for these companies, how they manage and use technology, their cost experiences and the effect on the final product. You'll learn why BIM is increasingly used and funded by contractors even when BIM is not a requirement of the owner, including:

  • Using BIM to reduce coordination time among subcontractors
  • Using BIM to reduce or eliminate field discrepancies
  • Using BIM to reduce cost and schedule risks
  • Virtual modeling -- using BIM to avoid costly field workarounds
  • Using BIM for quantity takeoff and cost estimating
  • Specifying more prefab materials using BIM
  • Case Studies: Three major commercial/government contractors discuss actual project experience with BIM -- including the pitfalls

To answer these questions and more, we have assembled a team of experienced BIM professionals to relate their real-world experience on this key topic.
