Viewpoint Sees 42% Increase in New Customer Adoption of its V6 Software in First Half of 2010

Viewpoint Construction Software, a Portland, Ore.-based company focused solely on developing construction-specific software, reported that during the first half of this year it experienced a 42 percent increase in new customer adoption of its V6 Software.

"In addition, overall interest in obtaining information about our products jumped 138 percent during the first half of the year as measured by inquiries and product demonstrations," according to Viewpoint. "Despite a challenging economy for many construction businesses, the amount of interest in our software and the continuing high level of new customer adoption indicates that progressive firms are looking to update their core technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness."

Viewpoint attributes its success in adding a record number of new customers in 2010's first six months to firms taking advantage of slower times to rebuild their technology infrastructure. Finding efficiencies in day-to-day operations, accounting practices, and effectively managing profitability were considered key factors for customers deciding to add or upgrade construction-specific software to their technology infrastructure. "Discovering better ways to manage jobs and data is more important than ever, and smart construction organizations are finding a quick return on their investment by implementing our contemporary software solution," the company stated.

In the first half of the year, Viewpoint made what it considers "a big investment" in staffing certain positions, including customer support, software development, professional services, and sales and marketing. The staffing additions are designed to allow Viewpoint to better respond to client needs, develop new technologies, and expand the Viewpoint brand to a broader market. With recent expansion in Australia and Canada, the beginning of 2010 also included securing and opening new office locations and staffing up to meet the rapidly developing international demand.
