Sub Settles with Prime and Then Recovers from Owner

Where a project owner and a constructor were commonly owned, a trade contractor’s subcontract with the constructor was distinct from a promissory note issued by the owner. The trade contractor could recover on the note even though it previously settled a contract claim against the constructor.
