Architect Had Duty to “Reject” Nonconforming Work

AIA contract documents called for the architect to reject nonconforming work, yet exculpated the architect from responsibility for the contractor’s work. The architect had a duty to the project owner to reject nonconforming work even though it was not ultimately responsible for that work. But the actions required by the term “reject” were uncertain.
