Installing Contractor Liable for Sales Tax

Under Florida law, a contractor that installs material or equipment into a public works project is responsible for the sales and use tax on that material or equipment. A question of fact existed as to whether a subcontractor or its lower-tier subcontractor erected steel gantries at a toll plaza.
