Webinar on Understanding the Risks and Obligations

The construction industry, non-conforming shop drawings can create problems for everyone - prime contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers and their attorneys. It takes a savvy AEC professional to navigate the shop drawing submittal and review process.

To help AEC professionals stay in control of the their shop drawings, WPL Publishing Co. Inc. has teamed up with attorneys Hugh Anderson and Justin Weisberg to present an interactive webinar, "Understanding the Risks and Obligations Involved in the Preparation and Review of Shop Drawings." This 90-minute online presentation, on Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. (EDT), will provide participants with important information concerning the contractual requirements regarding the submission and review of shop drawings,

including the obligations and rights of the parties. This course will also explore:
  • Benefits and disadvantages of recognizing shop drawings as contract documents
  • Tips to improve practices and procedures relative to shop drawing preparation and review
  • Recent cases concerning contractual disputes and liability resulting from problems originating from the shop drawing process
  • Ethical obligations of design professionals relating to the review of shop drawings
  • Evolving practices resulting from use of BIM and the development of new project delivery methods
